My wife and I were living in Ohio and had always planned to move South after retirement to be closer to family. Initially our choices were the Charlotte area of both North Carolina and South Carolina, until the housing market exploded. It was suggested by a family member that we consider the suburbs of Augusta, Georgia which had recently been named the #1 place in America to live.We began researching the area and found the housing market more to our liking and decided we would move to Georgia instead of the Carolinas. We needed a Realtor and McKenna Murray was referred to us by a relative that had recently worked with her on the purchase of his home. We made a introductory call to her and told her that we may want to work with her in the purchase of a home in the area. We informed her that we had a residence in Ohio that we needed to sell before buying a home in Georgia, but would keep her in mind. After several months had passed we received a call from McKenna as a reminder that she was willing to assist in whatever way she could in our home search. She gave us information regarding a lender, who we decided to use and ultimately obtained pre-approval for our purchase. We also inquired about any short term rental options she may have been aware of and she said she would check around. We eventually received a call from McKenna regarding the availability of a newly renovated move in ready ranch dwelling. We needed to bring nothing but our personal belongings. When McKenna Murray is on it, no stone is left unturned.Soon afterwards my wife and I had our furniture and other belongings picked up and moved to storage. We placed our house on the market and left Ohio, arriving in Georgia only a few days before meeting McKenna in her office to discuss our housing preferences. We found her to be a very thorough yet personable and pleasant professional. McKenna shared data regarding the limited inventory, demographics and average time it had been taking for buyers she had previously worked with. Using information from McKenna and my wife’s research, we visited multiple areas and within three days of our meeting found the house we ended up purchasing. With McKenna’s assistance, we viewed the dwelling, which we loved and made a verbal offer which was accepted within hours, in spite of the limited inventory.To sum things up, McKenna suggested a lender, that was great to work with, in obtaining the pre-approval for our purchase. She assisted us, a retired couple moving from Ohio to Georgia in securing fantastic temporary housing for a reasonable price, which she did not have to do. She assisted us in finding the house within our price point that we ultimately purchased within a week of our arriving in Georgia, during a time of very low inventory. She gave excellent advise as it related to the negotiations between us and the seller. She aided by scheduling qualified inspectors to inspect the dwelling, all within just a few days of the offer. McKenna provided a list of various contractors that we’d be able choose from if needed. She also assisted in getting the closing date scheduled within our desired time period which prevented additional charges for our furniture and other belongings which had been placed in storage.McKenna not only did all this in a very professional manner, but with a “if there is anything I can do for you” spirit that was genuine and real. She is a valuable asset to her employers but also a tremendous benefit to those she assist by being their Realtor. Because of McKenna, our home buying experience was enjoyable instead of stressful.McKenna Murray was a God send and we recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell a home.
